This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and our obligations and explains how, why, and when we process your personal data.

We are registered on the Information Commissioner's Office Register registration number ZB082415 and act as the data controller/data processor.
Information That We Collect
Smartlearning UK Limited processes your personal information to meet our legal, statutory, and contractual obligations and to provide you with our products and services. It also includes information you give us or that we obtain when you use our website, subscribe to our services, enquire about a service, place a service request, contact us to report an issue, or do any of these things on behalf of the person that you work for;
- “Client Data” including information about how you use our services, website, and applications, as well as personal data which can include Identity, Contact and Profile Data of you, beneficiaries, employees, or employers, or other third persons about whom we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you;
- “Assessment and support data” including to sell and deliver course contents, and assessments, track studying progress, and create customized tests for students, providing digital learning tools, assessment feedback etc.
- “Marketing and communications data” including your preferences in receiving notification about new and updated courses, marketing from us and your communication preferences. This may include information about events such as webinars to which you or your colleagues or organisation are invited, and your personal data and preferences to the extent that this information is relevant to organising and managing those events.
- “Technical data” incluiding:
- The Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform;
- Information about your visit to our website/Apps, such as the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our website (including date and time), services viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from a page, any phone number used to call our central switchboard number, and direct dials or social media handles used to connect with our Smartlearning website; and
- Location data which we may collect through our website/Apps and which provides your real-time location in order to provide location services (where requested or agreed to by you) to deliver content or other services that are dependent on knowing where you are. This information may also be collected in combination with an identifier associated with your device to enable us to recognise your mobile browser or device when you return to the website/App. Delivery of location services will involve reference to one or more of the following: (a) the coordinates (latitude/longitude) of your location; (b) look-up of your country of location by reference to your IP address against public sources; and/or (c) your Identifier for Advertisers (IFA) code for your Apple device, or the Android ID for your Android device, or a similar device identifier. Smartlearning UK Limited takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclose or share your data without your consent; unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purpose(s) specified in this notice. Smartlearning UK Limited takes your privacy seriously and takes every reasonable measure and precaution to protect and secure your personal data. We work hard to protect you and your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction and have several layers of security measures in place, including: SSL, TLS, encryptions, restricted access, IT authentication, firewalls, anti-virus/malware etc.
Transfers Outside the EU
Personal data in the European Union is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) but some other countries may not necessarily have the same high standard of protection for your personal data. Smartlearning does not transfer or store any personal data outside the EU

Where this is the case, we have carried out a thorough Legitimate Interests’ Assessment (LIA) to ensure that we have weighed your interests and any risk posed to you against our own interests, ensuring that they are proportionate and appropriate.
We use the legitimate interests’ legal basis for processing your data for the legitimate purpose of delivering our products and services to you and have identified that our interests are legitimate in delivering our services to you.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Smartlearning UK Limited only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations. We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed.
Where you have consented to us using your details for direct marketing, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise and/or withdraw your consent.

Occasionally, Smartlearning UK Limited would like to contact you with information about new courses and course updates, offers, promotions and webinars that have been identified as being beneficial to our customers and in our interests.
